Q11. Outdoor clerking
Does anyonoe have any advice about outdoor clerking as a gap year option? Is the course offered by the Association of Law Clerks necessary?

Ask a Pupil is a blog run by a number of current pupils. Its aim is to provide a range of views on questions asked by people hoping to become barristers.
We don't post any questions on the site that might lead to comments being made about individuals or particular institutions.
We should also point out that these are just our opinions - we can't guarantee that they are right!

I don't have any personal experience of clerking but the people I know who have done it have found work through contacts or speculative applications. I don't know of anyone who has done the course you mention.
